Pre-arrival information and floorplan
The space
Downstairs, the house has a light and spacious dining area perfect for sunny breakfasts or
snug wintry meals flowing through from a traditional kitchen whose countertop was
fashioned by the driftwood from the Island’s beaches.
The conservatory: this sunny and flowery room stores garden games, chairs to snooze upon and its own dining table and seating area. This room heats up quickly in the summer and can be enjoyed throughout the day.
A separate sitting room is furnished with sofas and a smart television with a DVD player
and is a perfect place for all to relax or play. Finally, there is a useful and newly refurbished
downstairs shower/utility room.
The downstairs areas are well-equipped with all the
appliances required for a home away from home (dishwasher, fridge freezer, WiFi, washing
machine & Sheila’s maid, oven/aga etc.Outside, a whole host of beautiful garden facilities and features await. Near the gate there is a herb garden for you to enjoy; at the front of the house there is a lawn with croquet facilities, a mulberry bush, cherry trees and an Island stone patio with sun loungers and a hammock.
Below is a daffodil field and further space for parking (should guests bring more than 2 cars
and the field is dry). Past the ponds towards the back of the house you will find a split level
lawned area with a har har housing a home-made bbq oven surrounding a bbq patio/dining
area and towards the bottom of this lawn there is a trampoline (for one child at a time only).
Children should be monitored at all times when outdoors.
There is one staircase to lead you to the upstairs: At the top of the stairs there are two
bedrooms more suited to children: one containing two twin beds (zip and link) and one
containing a queen double bed and a toddler’s bed. At the front of the house are the two
double aspect master bedrooms, each with a super king or king size bed. The upstairs
bathroom has been recently renovated.
